traGtor looks interesting, I just don't have time to test it. You could run Windows tools in a virtual machine but it would be much slower. avconv is very efficient, all it's missing is a SIMPLE user interface for non-geeks. I tested with a 5 minute 1280x720 MPEG video and it was a heavy load for my i7-6700. You could then select one or more videos in file explorer and run "rotate clockwise" or "rotate counterclockwise". Scripts to rotate videos will likely be a page long, they can be placed in your Scripts directory as in the image below. These are simple command lines, not scripts. You'll need to add the "Rotate" filter, but that's easily done. No need to install, just copy over to your virtual drive and create a shortcut. You can download the portable zip version. If someone gives me a video that is incorrectly oriented, it's very easy to correct in any video editor like Kdenlive.īut if you want a good GUI frontend to ffmpeg and don't mind running wine, I highly recommend XmediaRecode. To be truthful, I have no need for such things because I know how to orient the phone before shooting the video.
